Life was normal as usual, actively looking after my wife and kids. One afternoon an increasing sore took place at my lower stomach. I thought that was only a pain, but after a hospital consultations and tests, it turned up to be a Burkitts lymphoma (blood cancer) that is very aggressive and spreadable.

My Wife Leila and I were devastated after discovering such sickness and decided to keep our daughter 12 and son 9 away from such news as they had an experience with one of our friend that died with cancer one year ago.

It has been three months since being diagnosed and have been going through intensive treatment with chemotherapy. Life has completely changed as my immune system partially switched off, from time to time I didn’t enjoy nor have a taste in anything such as food, drinks even conversations.

With Leila and the kids by my side all the time I find it hard to tell them to go home and get on with life but I am sure that that’s not what they want to hear. I therefore try to make it like I am just in hospital for few days. I am going back to hospital for my forth cycle, God knows what next. As a human I can only handle outcomes to an extent but going through such intense treatment my body find it hard to keep up with the extreme changes.

Our current financial situation makes it very hard to meet our daily unexpected expenses; this is something we weren’t prepared for.

Being the sole financial supporter for the family and not being anymore able to look after them, I really which a support to our situation will help in many ways.
