The Acoustic Den Café
Opened October 3, 2015 in Roseville, California
I opened The Den to create the best live music venue in the region with an intimate and relaxed experience for the performer and the audience. The Den was designed on “both sides of the mic.”
The Den hosts local and touring musicians of all ages.
Mark Kroos from North Carolina was my first opportunity to host a national artist on tour.
Since Mark Kroos, we have enjoyed Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney guitarist with Wings,) Christie Lenee, International Fingerstyle Champion 2017(Nashville,) Daniel Champagne (Nashville,) Hussy Hicks (Australia,) Gavino Loche (Italy,) Mark Goldenberg (Jackson Browne guitarist for 15 years,) and Claude Bourbon (UK.)
My vision, my passion for the music, my drive to engage and encourage our community and my commitment to this endeavor will not be compromised.
Please help in sharing this campaign with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and businesses.
In 2012 something unique started to present itself to me. I attended a Roseville High School performing arts guitar class performance and I was impressed by the quality of a number of 15 to 18 year old students.
From 2012 to the fall of 2014 my "feasibility" study included trips to numerous restaurants, coffee houses, bars, etc. in the greater Sacramento area (and southern California) to see what was available for the public and the musician base to enjoy quality music in a comfortable environment without the distractions of restaurant clatter, bar scene chatter, coffee house espresso machines and TV's blasting sports and news. All audio overload for any musician's performance.
The thought out process for a "listening room" music venue evolved from this knowledge and experience.
The Acoustic Den Cafe in Roseville supports our young musicians with a safe and comfortable environment that allows them to enjoy performing and increases their confidence.
The growth rate of housing development and businesses in Roseville and Rocklin has validated a robust market. The Galleria Mall, Guitar Center, Blue Oaks theaters complex and most recently Top Golf have all had great acceptance and support from the public.
The Den is gaining ever greater name recognition and brand awareness as more and more musicians on tour want to establish the Roseville/Rocklin market as part of their routing for performances.
Now, after 30 months of operations, and working a full time day job in Folsom, (from which I retired on May 7), I will now be able to dedicate myself 100% to the growth and success of The Den.
My 3 year lease runs out at the end of July. The landlord has been flexible and supportive.
To relieve my debt load I will need to raise a large sum of money in a short amount of time.
With your support in continuing operations, The Den will be able to also improve the performance experience by adding an elevated stage, improved performance lighting and window blinds that will help the performer side of the mic and the intimacy of the room.
Extending business hours will allow for more musician based events and activities ranging from rehearsals to private parties to school field trip events.
I appreciate your financial support, your sharing of this fund raising platform and our partnership in "Engaging our community thru music."
Sincerely and with the best of intentions.
