The 8848 fund is a non for profit organisation, co-founded by Andrew Horton and Sarah-Jane Taylor to give long term relief, aid and rebuilding to villages in the districts of both Rasuwa and Dolokha including the villages of Thuman, Tingure, Jiri, Danda Kharka and many more. After the massive destruction caused by the two earthquakes in Nepal, they knew that they had to do something to help their friends and those in need, to make a difference no matter the scale. With this and some very ambitious aims, the 8848 fund was founded. What started out as simply our name and the height of Mount Everest, became much more, it grew into a calling, a rallying point, as well as our starting goal. The first challenge was created, Climb Share Donate, to complete 8848 climbs and raise funds to start rebuilding not only buildings in Nepal but homes, communities, pride and livelihoods.
