The 40, 40, 40 Challenge for Jenson Whitehouse

40TH BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE

Extremely fortunate I have had an awesome almost 40 years and often can't believe how lucky I am. Many people have provided me with inspiration and motivation to undertake different challenges, adventures and experiences along the way. For this next one I hold the following awe inspiring people, at 2 very different stages in life, responsible.

Less motivated by competition these days (though others may disagree) improving the quality of life of others provides no better incentive. In this case it is for a young boy who is about to face an unimaginably difficult journey of his own. This boy is Jenson, shortly to be 3 years old. On his first birthday he was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a muscle wasting and life limiting condition. As he goes through childhood he will suffer progressively debilitating muscle weakness, and require increasing levels of physical assistance as he looses the ability to walk. He will develop problems eating and breathing. I would like this event to be dedicated to raise money to assist in the provision of his future care needs.

I hope you will be able to support this cause and if you feel inclined you are more than welcome to join me (and hopefully my husband, Toby - who doesn't know it yet!) in running a half marathon loop, full marathon or whatever distance you wish on the 23rd and join in the fundraising.
