That’s What She Said premiered in 2012 on Berks Community Television on a lark. Frankly, we had no idea we’d be around this long, and yet, years later, here we are. As our Producer said, “It’s the little show that shouldn’t have, but did.” We appreciate all the love our station, but more importantly, our viewers, have given us in our absurd journey.
Now the distasteful part. Surprisingly, for an all-volunteer venture, the costs involved in producing and airing our show are not insubstantial. For the last five years, these costs have been borne by the ladies of TWSS and their families. And, honestly, we could, and will, continue our journey, operating at our current bare-bones self-funded status-quo.
It would, however, be lovely to have some meat on our bones. What do we dream of:
*Better editing software so we can upgrade our video and remote segments.
*The ability to pay expenses for field trips (admissions, etc.) so the gals of TWSS have more freedom to say, “Yes! Let’s do that segment!”
*The ability to reimburse Martha (usually) for supplying the delightful treats we enjoy on the show.
*Funds to help us create more delightful give-aways. Remember those fabulous TWSS glasses?
Etc, and on and on.
We would like your help to help us make the show you love even better!
Because we believe in spreading the love, donations will be broken down between three worthy entities:
50% to That’s What She Said.
25% to BCTV, our home on the air.
25% to the Committee to Protect Journalists www.cpj.org. A cause especially important in these uncertain times. For those unfamiliar with CPJ, here is their mission statement: “Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) promotes press freedom worldwide and defends the right of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal. CPJ takes action wherever journalists are censored, attacked, imprisoned, or killed for their work. Our advocacy helps to ensure the free flow of news and commentary.”
Whether you choose to donate or not, we love you all, and we thank you for your support of That’s What She Said! Let’s raise a glass to many more years to come!
Love, Jane
