Campaign Story
Thandiswa is a 9 year old, high functioning autistic little girl living in a rural village in the Eastern Cape. She lives with distant relatives who live below the poverty line. She is at the local main stream school but battling a lot. She has failed Grade 2 twice already and it looks like she will be failing again this year if she doesn't get the assistance she needs.
The family cannot afford sending her to a special needs school and there are none in her area or close by. She would have to board.
I have found a facilitator for her who is qualified and has experience with Autism and special needs at a foundation phase level. I am paying her R100 per hour and have asked her to help out twice a week for 2 hours at a time.
Unfortunately my salary will not cover such an expense, but Thandiswa is like my daughter and as anyone with children will know, you will do anything for your kids.
I am asking if you could please donate something towards helping this little girl get the help she needs and deserves. Even if it is just R50. Please note that donations are made in US$ and not in Rands.
Thank you

I am really interested in understanding more about supporting this child. My daughter looks the same age and is also high functioning... we won't main stream because of social challenges and her Classic autism. We are doing well academically on an IEDP and with facilitator... I understand at a deep level
