Thailand 2017

Hi!

Recently I think that I have become addicted to the idea of travelling and needing new adventures in my life, and it's been driving me so insane that I haven't just gotten up and left for somewhere yet! So upon actually completing education, I started researching scholarships, placements, volunteering abroad agencies. Anything that could mean I would be able to travel and make a difference at the same time.

And I found a trip that's both like an adventuring and a volunteering trip- which would be literally a dream for me to go on. As well as that, it gives me a chance to head back to where I used to spend a lot of my childhood, as I was born in Thailand and I used to often spend my summers there as a child!

The adventure side to the trip allows a lot of exploring both the cities, paddy fields and temples- so I am able to really have an appreciation of all parts of Thai culture, where I am at age where I can really appreciate it. The volunteering placement lasts 5 days, helping with community renovation projects and having the opportunity to spend a few days teaching, while getting to really know the local people in the villages around Nong Khai. We will be staying very close to the locals in the village Ban Thin Dung.

I'm really hoping to travel out there by February 2017, and flights alone are quite costly, being around £650. My goal in using this is just to get enough money to cover my flights and I'll surely be able to save up for the rest!
