Thai Animal Sanctuary in Sangkhlaburi, Thailand needs your help!

The Sanctuary has been run daily by Denise, who tirelessly works to provide for the long term residents of the sanctuary as well as walk-in patients, local street animals, and long term treatments of pets of locals, and sometimes surprise wildlife!

Sangkhlaburi's closest vet and testing lab is a 4 hour drive away, and the sanctuary is the only means of help for thousands of people and animals in surrounding villages.

Despite this, the sanctuary receives no government help, but has successfully helped nearly 100 dogs and cats go overseas to new homes, save lives through emergency medical treatment, spayed and neutered hundreds of animals.

The sanctuary relies on volunteer donations and help on the ground to run day to day, so when there are no volunteers Denise, Vicky, and Song run the sanctuary, and have a small circle of friends who help in their spare time, with tasks taking entire days such as walking and feeding the 40+ resident dogs, and caring for the resident cats at the volunteer housing.

The sanctuary urgently needs donations to stay open, and after 13 years the pot is running dry due animals in need regularly being left at their doorstep, rising food and medicine costs, low exchange rates, and threats by the land owner to move properties to a far out plot with no current facilities, with no mode of transport from the main town.

Sangkhlaburi is a beautiful place where the resident vets have helped my dogs countless times in my time of need, and helped diagnose Star with her long term illness, and provide advice and treatment which would have cost me hundreds and hundreds of pounds and long stressful journeys into Bangkok if not for the sanctuary.

The £1000 target will go towards providing daily food, medicine, treatment for street dogs, rent of the property, and the constant maintenance and repair costs they encounter whilst being situated in the mountains, with heavy flooding during the rainy season being one of many daily challenges.

Any small donation will help, and donations will be converted into THB by myself personally, so the sanctuary don't have to deal with their current £6 daily withdrawal fee, and maximum withdrawal amounts from the UK bank account they currently use, as they cannot legally obtain a Thai bank account.

*If anyone would like to make local food/bedding/equipment donations to the sanctuary, please get it touch*
