 WHO WAS NIKOLA TESLA

Nikola Tesla was an Serbian-American Inventor, visionary and genius, a “Futurist” much like Tony Stark (Iron Man) but unlike Tony, Tesla really existed, spoke 8 languages and was ahead of his time and one of the most prolific Inventors of the 20th century. Tesla’s name is honored today in many of products including the TESLA CAR. 

Tesla was controversial in that he invented and built an energy tower in New York in 1901 Wardenclyffe Tower. The tower could emit wireless electrical energy throughout the world for people to use for free, but the invention was suppressed by Governing powers in the US and around the world and today it is still suppressed.

Over 700 patents were issued to Tesla worldwide during his lifetime up to 1943. Many of his patents were for products that the world uses today and very few people know where they originated and who invented them.

Here are just a few that most people are familiar with and use every day:

And of course, his most famous invention the Alternating Current better known as “AC” it’s what gives the entire world LIGHT & ELECTRICITY.

Our plan is to develop "TESLA" into a major feature film that will depict the life of one of history’s most under-appreciated inventors, visionaries, geniuses, Nikola Tesla. 

Since Nikola Tesla’s death in 1943, films about him are few and far between, with probably the most exciting depiction in the blockbuster “The Prestige” although the film was not about him, his true life character in “The Prestige” enhanced the film considerably, see video clip on YouTube. We aim to complement to that with an equally exciting film dedicated entirely to the subject of Tesla. The film will be largely based on historical events and facts but to enhance its entertainment value nearly 30% will be fictionalized with alternative but plausible events. 

As part of our strategy our producers are working hard on attracting interest from some of Hollywood's biggest names, particularly those who love and admire Nikola Tesla. And thanks to our many years of distribution and film sales experience, we have aligned several leading distribution partners who will get the film released around the world.

This project is not by a BIG Hollywood studio and will not have an insanely HIGH budget, neither will it be a low budget film, budgeting for this project is still in progress and will be in medium range when finalized, it is our goal to make the film look and feel like a high budget Hollywood production complete with big name stars who are willing to do the film for a lot less than what they would normally make in honor and love of Nikola Tesla. An important part in any film is music and we are extremely fortunate in having two highly talented film composers, Bojan Cukic and Nikola Jeremic. Our film has generated an extraordinary amount of Press and public interest in Nikola Tesla’s native country Serbia and throughout the Balkan region. WHY CROWDFUNDING?

Quite simply we need a boost in finances to keep us going towards bringing this film to realization. We don’t have the financial resources the big studios or even some independent producers in Hollywood have. But what we do have is talent, determination, years of film business experience, and above all, heart.

We started preparing this film in mid-2013 and have passed the halfway point in completing all the preparations necessary for production (first phase of four). This phase of producing a film is a costly process and almost always at the personal expense of the film's creators as is the case with this film, over $90,000 as of March 1. 2013, it is estimated that the overall costs in this phase will reach up to and possibly over $150,000. The harsh reality in major feature film producing is 7 out of 10 films never complete this first phase and reach pre-production (second phase) the jumping board to actual filming (third phase). The reason for this is that projects run out of energy but more often than not money before they are able to secure all the principal financing to put the film in production.

Your donations ensure that we get to production, enabling our producers to continue preparing this film, continue paying legal fees, phone expenses, travel expenses, additional deposits for essential creative services including continued screenplay development and actors, enabling our producers to continue seeking the greater amount of funding required to produce the film. The good news is we already have significant financial and distribution commitments for the production, and now we need the help of crowdfunding to continue the push forward.

Your contributions to the film, no matter how great or small MAKE you a member of this project from now until the completion of filming and through its post-production (fourth and final phase), sales and worldwide release.

And should we be fortunate enough to exceed our funding goal all additional money will go towards the second, third and fourth phase of the project.

RISK & CHALLENGES

As with pretty much everything in life, there are risks and challenges involved here. A risk to your donation however great or small and a challenge for us to make your donation work in bringing this film successfully to the screen. And as much as we would like to have complete control on every aspect of producing this film there is always the possibility of encountering factors beyond our control such as schedules being held up by collaborators or adverse weather conditions, illness of star(s) or key production personnel, or last minute loss of partial financing, and so on. Problems such as these or similar are solvable in as much as we are determined in solving them, and determined we are no matter what the obstacles. We may encounter setbacks or become delayed but we will not be defeated, the show will go on!
