I'm not one to usually ask for help, but I really do need help now. I tore the ACL in my knee while performing at the preview of Aunty Merle with Marc Lottering. This incident will put me out of any sort of dance or choreographer work until 2021.
I secured the contract on the 24 November 2019, and injured my knee on the 27th November 2019. I saw the doctor on the same night at Kingsbury Hospital in Claremont. They ran X-Rays and referred me to an orthopedic surgeon for an MRI scan of the knee to confirm the diagnosis. The next day I went for the scan and received the results that evening confirming what I had feared most - that I suffered a lateral miniscus tear and an ACL rupture.
With this knowledge, I now have to undergo surgery which will take 6 to 8 weeks of healing time, rehab and physio.
This initiative is not to pay for my surgery, instead it's to cover my living expenses since I will not be able to earn an income as a professional dancer and choreographer of 15years.
The funds will cover traveling expenses, to and from physio treatment because the treatment will be free but the traveling is expensive. Accommodation and utilities because I need to cover rent since I don't have any family who I can stay with in the recovery period. Food, toiletries, health supplements and any unforeseen expenses.
Thank you for taking the time to donate to my cause. Even if you are unable to donate, I appreciate you reading about my situation.
Thank you, dankie, enkosi and gracias.
