WHAT IS TEMPOS?
Tempos Gimnasia Danesa (Tempos Danish Gymnastics) is a non-profit sports association that was born 12 years ago thanks to a Costa Rican and a Dane in "Gymnastikhøjskolen i Ollerup", Denmark with the idea of creating a gymnastics place in Costa Rica for all ages only for recreation purposes and not for competition, just for fun.

WHAT IS TEMPOS REPHOLD?
That is the name of our team and it consists of around 30 people (from 6 to 70 years old) and we have been rehearsing our routine for the past 6 months.
WHY DO YOU CALL IT DANISH GYMNASTICS?
We follow the same methodology learned in Denmark to teach gymnastics, besides, we still have connection with Ollerup and we send 1 or 2 of our instructors per year to learn and be even more qualified to teach Danish gymnastics. We have also hosted the visit of 9 Danish Teams and around 20 instructors by giving them a place to stay with the families of our gymnasts.
WHY DO WE NEED DONATIONS?
Since we are a non-profit association, we don't receive any income that allow us to pay the trip for our team. Therefore, we've been doing activities like sales, our festival, workshops and others for the past 6 months to try to collect as much as possible but at this pace we won't be able to make it.
HOW WOULD YOU USE THE FUNDS?
If we got any money, we would use it to pay the flight tickets for the whole team or at least help to reduce the cost of it. The ticket from SJO to CPH was quoted in around $1500 each and most of our team are students, so they don't have any income, which makes harder to accomplish our goal.
After Ollerup, Jorge Sánchez (Costa Rican) and Maja Gjladbæk (Dane) moved to Costa Rica and started this project in 2008 renting a place but eventually, they moved Tempos to a garage due to the high cost of renting. This garage didn't have much room but was enough for people who really wanted to learn and it worked really well for 6 years. The first 4 years, the classes were given with only a few materials as soft landing mats, a springboard and wall bars, but in 2012 we got some donations from Denmark as a mini trampoline, an airtrack and others, but then we had the problem that we couldn't jump too high because the ceiling was really low.
In 2015, with a loan, a lot of work, effort and help from many people, we were able to move Tempos to a bigger place without the ceiling limitation and much more room to teach in a better way. This place used to be a warehouse and was in really bad conditions so we had to work on our own to fix the place by cleaning, painting, fixing the electrical part and the floor, building furniture and move the materials from one place to another. Nowadays, Tempos is established and we teach to around 260+ students in Costa Rica. Our students are from 1 year to 74 years old and we not only teach tumbling, but also rhythmical gymnastics and aerial silks. We continue growing and we look for improvement everyday so we can increase the quality of teaching gymnastics in our country.
