TELL it All Fudraiser Page – Raising Money for Mental Health

Help us raise ¥50,000 (about $500) in support of TELL mental health initiatives!

All proceeds will be donated to TELL (https://telljp.com/) in service of mental health support in Japan and the TELL Lifeline.

The TELL Lifeline is one of the organizations most significant initiatives, giving free, confidential support by anonymous, trained, and caring staff to kids, teens, and adults in need. The lifeline is available in both Japanese and English, but currently the available hours are limited. As such, more resources are needed to help train staff and invest in the resources to bring this initiative online 24/7.

Japan is faced with a number of mental health struggles, including:
*One of the highest suicide rates in the world (the second highest rate within the G7 developed nations in 2019)
*Children struggling with mental healh (Japanese children were found in a 2020 UNICEF report to have the second-worst mental well-being out of 38 developed and emerging countries).
*Suicide claimed more lives in Japan in 2020 than COVID19.
*Mental health disorders, as well, may affect more than 20% of the nation.
*More than 50% of employees in Japan are strongly affected by work-related stress

Despite the prevalence of mental health struggles in the country, however, mental health support in Japan is sadly lacking, and there are still strong stigmas against mental health disorders in the country.

TELL is working to bridge the gap in mental health survices by providing services like the Lifeline, bilingual counseling, offering resources to combat work-related stress, and educating the population on bullying and its impact.
