The third time's a charm! With your help, I am going to kick cancer's butt once and for all. I need to raise $30K for alternative treatment.
When I was first diagnosed in 2006, some friends did a LIVESTRONG bike race in my honor and made t-shirts with Team Tracy on them. That is the best name because it reflects the incredible support system I have in my corner. My doctors have confirmed that chemo likely won't work for me because I have a slow growing cancer and chemo kills fast growing cells. It seems the best answer they have is for me to continue having surgery every four to five years when the tumors inevitably return and get big enough to begin causing problems. As I deal with cancer for a third time, I am taking a different path - one that isn't traditional, but one I have a tremendous amount of faith in.
Alternative oncology has been around for nearly 75 years, and has had incredible success rates. There are a number of in-patient as well as out-patient programs available around the world. I did a lot of research and found one in California that seems like a good fit for me. I will begin treatment with them on August 12th. As you can imagine, this type of treatment is not covered by health insurance, and while in comparison to a similar stay in a traditional hospital it is actually cheap, I simply don't have that kind of money lying around. An important element of this for me is that I get that I am not alone. You have all been telling me this for years, and this fundraising campaign was a great suggestion by my friend Von that will help me prove it. Thank you so much for your support in so many ways - emotional, financial, spiritual and physical.
