Team Mapphire – Pairs Figure Skating Team USA Hopefuls

Sapphire Jaeckel and Matthew Scoralle make up Team Mapphire - the 2016 US Figure Skating Championships Bronze Medalists at the Novice level! Through an incredible work ethic and even greater determination they created a successful season for themselves despite a very limited budget and meager amount of lessons. They have been blessed with an amazingly supportive group of coaches and trainers, and a couple of resourceful parents. This season they will be competing at the Junior level, and have just received exciting news that they have been selected by US Figure Skating for the 2016-2017 International Selection Pool (ISP) from which teams are chosen to represent Team USA at international competitions. In order to be competitive and gain one of these coveted spots the kids desperately need additional training and lessons, and will also be required to travel and compete more this season. Sapphire and Matt have an enormous amount of talent and have accomplished so much not only from the guidance of their coaches and training team, but from their ability to work together on their own and push themselves for the goals they set to accomplish. Equally important, Sapphire and Matt maintain a down-to-earth humility while still being fierce and entertaining competitors. They present themselves with grace and eloquence and will make their country proud in the way they conduct themselves both on and off the ice.
