Team K’s Medical Trip to Tanzania!

Hi!

We are Molly and Hannah. We are two sixth form students, from the lake district. We are both studying maths, biology and chemistry, with the hope of going into the medical field after we finish our A levels. On the 20th of August this year, we will be travelling to Arusha, Tanzania, to volunteer in a public hospital with Plan My Gap Year for 2 weeks.

We are both passionate about this and we feel it will be an eye opening and educational experience. Both of us feel this is a great way to have a direct impact in peoples lives and a very hands on experience.

We are both paying for our flights, however we are keen to raise money for the project as this will be used for supplies to save peoples lives in Africa. We also plan to raise funds for sterile and sanitary supplies. Sterile conditions are vitally important to fight infection in Africa as the spread of disease is life threatening in poorer countries.

Some of the money raised will go towards or volunteer programme which allows us to stay in Africa for 2 weeks with food and accommodation.

This is why we are reaching out to you to raise money for this cause, we have a goal of £2000 which will be vital in providing the hospital and project with important equipment.
