With your help, our team can establish a repertoire of high-fidelity Mars analog research projects suitable for collaboration with the ISU Master's students at the central campus in Strasbourg, France.www.isunet.edu

The Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS), located in the Utah Desert, is an analog site for conducting remote space research. We’d like to introduce you to our diverse crew of alumni from the International Space University. We are a self-driven team of space cadets, engineers, analysts, scientists, artists, entrepreneurs and dreamers. We invite you to get to know our team, the research projects YOU can help fund and the long-term goals of Team ISU on Mars.

We will spend two weeks during our mission at the Mars Hab- a circular space of only 8 meters across with two available decks. While in the sim, we will live under the same constraints as astronauts on the Martian surface; performing experiments and living as if we really were 225 million kilometers from Earth in a primarily CO2 environment.

It may be decades before humanity sets foot on the Red Planet in the flesh, but this doesn't negate the importance of learning how those first settlers will live, work, survive and thrive in such a hostile environment. Mars-like environments here on Earth offer us a chance to mimic the various challenges that those future Mars-nauts may encounter. No matter the harsh environment on Mars, habitats will need to be maintained, experiments will need to be completed and geological research will need to be conducted through extra vehicular activities or EVAs.

We are raising funds to support our team’s Mars simulation. We have the combined expertise of 6 fields of study but need YOUR help in getting to Mars. Our mission will bring 8 new and innovative experiments to the research site with the ability to collaborate directly with the current ISU Master’s class.

We make no profit from this campaign; 100% of your donations go to getting our team out to the hab from different points on the globe, keeping us warm and fed in the Martian winter, publishing our research and ensuring a successful mission that will not only inspire next year’s crew but engage the global community’s interest in space exploration.
