As many of you know Team Due East was a participant of the Mongolia Charity Rally 2013 which aim was to drive a Van from Ireland to Mongolia to donate it to a Hospital upon arrival to Ulaambaatar.
Sadly and just when everything was ready for the team to go, We receive an unexpected bad new... We would not get our Russian Visas. :( Even though they were in their entire right to do so, they were pretty much denied to apply.
What that meant was that Team Due East had to cancel their trip to Mongolia as due to time and money issues there were no other way to get there.
BUT, They could no give up, and after few more attempts and contacting other charities in Ukraine and Malta (the farthest they can get) Team Due East found a charity willing to take so precious donation.
So Team Dues East will be driving to Malta very soon and donating the Van to:
The St. Jeanne Antide Foundation (SJAF), a registered NGO based in Tarxien, Malta and committed to identify and to support in a holistic manner vulnerable and poor families at community level and beyond. It was set up by the Malta Province of the Sisters of Charity of St Jeanne Antide in collaboration with lay persons.
If you which to support Team Due East in keeping going and to make to Malta, please do so, as after all the trouble they are very much in need of fundings to pay the van exportation expenses!
