TEAM DARRYL

Many of you know Darryl Batzler, that fun-loving, caring guy with a heart of gold!  Well, I am sad to say that he hasn't had the best year thus far and it's only just beginning for him.

On Friday,  February 6th,  2015 Darryl was taken by ambulance to the UW Madison Hospital where they performed an emergency tracheostomy and took a biopsy of a mass they discovered, which has been diagnosed as an advanced head and neck cancer.  On Monday, February 23rd 2015 he underwent his 2nd surgery, a total laryngectomy and radical neck dissection - surgeons completely removed his larynx,  the large tumor and the lymph nodes that proved to be cancerous.  After another week in the hospital and a few weeks of healing at home,  he will begin treatment - 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.  It is unknown at this time when he will be able to return to work. Recovery will take some time and he will also have to learn a new way of living. 

From the roots of my soul,  Darryl is the kindest man I have ever met, and I would do anything to make this critical time in his life easier! Let's do what we can to raise money for him to help with medical bills and daily living expenses during his time of healing.  GO TEAM DARRYL!!!
