Campaign Story
On what seemed like just another December morning, Zoe, a sweet smart three-year old suddenly became very sick. She began throwing up and then fell into a seizure. Her parents rushed her to a hospital where doctors performed an MRI and discovered that Zoe has a an arteriovenus malformation (AVM) in her brain
Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain. This condition is congenital and is seldom discovered until it ruptures or is found in MRI scan for some other reason. In Zoe's case the seizure and vomiting was a sign that the AVM had ruptured and she was hemoragging in her brain.
Zoe who is a smart and sweet 3 year old, who loves to sing and plays with her older cousins but has been fighting for her life in the hospital since December 08,2015. She was unconscious for two days and woke up for the first time last December 11. She still mostly sleeps since waking from the coma has had several silent seizures. According to doctors, her condition is relatively good because she does wake up occasionally and is able to grip with her hands.
Zoe needs a procedure to drain fluids from her brain and release the pressure so she has a chance of recovering. The two options are to have a Ventriculostomy or a lasering procedure either of which are too expensive for Zoe's family to afford.
For Zoe to get better we need your prayers and financial support. The surgery and other procedures and cost of hospital stay will cost a sum of money and the family doesn't have enough fund to cover all the bills. I'm asking on behalf of Ivan and Bianca, Zoe's parents, for your help both in prayers and financial support. What ever help you will make will be big help for Zoe's recovery.
