“There is no delight in owning anything unshared”

                                                                   (Seneca, Roman philosopher)

I strongly believe that every single person can make a difference to this huge and diverse world. Being given a chance to receive good education and reach my goals I want to share it with others in less fortunate circumstances, so they can have an opportunity to fulfil their dreams and inspire others.

In the modern world, Peru is still a developing country, where more than 20% of people live in poverty. I absolutely agree with the saying of American political journalist P.J. O’Rourke “You can’t get rid of poverty by giving people money. In my opinion, well educated people are the basis of the prosperous and strong country. Education gives people a chance to find the right place in their life and opportunity to explore the world and themselves.

I see the opportunity to work with native Peruvians as a unique opportunity to share my experience with them and give them a chance to explore this interesting and diverse world.

About the Project:

3 weeks teaching volunteering in Peruvian education centre in Huaycan. This programme involves teaching migrants from rural parts of Peru who have settled in Huaycan in order to find a job. The main aims of the role are to assist teachers during their lessons by working with students of different age and engaging them in various activities.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of awareness local people do not put a high emphasize on education, which results in low living standards for them and their children in the future. This project gives people great opportunity to be engaged in different learning process and consequently trigger the improvement in various aspects of their lives.

About Me:

I am currently doing MA in Educational Management and I am extremely interesting in teaching and working with people. Being brought up in the family of the teachers I have always been interested in it and had a chance to put my interest into practice. I see this volunteering project as a great opportunity to enhance my teaching experience as long as personal development. I strongly believe that every single person matters and being able to change the world even in the tiniest way can have a great impact in the global development.

I have a passion to explore different cultures and exchange world views. I see this project as an opportunity to share my own knowledge and experience with local people and enrich their knowledge on cultural awareness and exchange the experiences.

Goal:

As a full-time student, my funds are limited and I find it necessary to raise money for participation in this project. My goal is £1200, which will cover cost of the flight, accommodation and transportation.

The trip is being organised by PMGY. For more information on this organization, please visit www.planmygapyear.co.uk

I would appreciate any donations to enable me to take part in this incredible programme

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
