Teaching English in Bali

About Us...

Hi, I'm Ed. Heidi and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to teach English to school children in Bali through Plan My Gap Year. We are both 18 years old, and will be volunteering for two weeks following our A-Level exams, before we go to university.

Why are we going?

We have both worked with underprivileged children before, so we know how rewarding it can be for us, and how much it can benefit them. With the booming tourism industry in Bali, the ability to speak English is invaluable. Unfortunately, due to overcrowded classrooms and a lack of skilled teachers, it is a privilege rather than a normality. We are determined to provide the foundations for a brighter future for the children, despite our short stay.

Why sponsor us?

Every bit of the money you donate will go towards buying equipment for the school when we are out there. Due to the relatively cheap cost of such equipment in Bali, we are hoping to make a real difference to the children's school with this money.

How will we fundraise?

I will be running a 10k race in Carterton, Oxfordshire on the 10th April. Following this I will be running the Royal Windsor half marathon on the 22nd May. We will both be running some fun runs, and Heidi is also organising some more events.
