There is a shortage of teachers in the Philippines, and children are struggling to get a quality education. A volunteer's time is therefore highly valued, and they are needed to teach elementary and high school students in public schools. Subjects taught include English, math, science, health, and basic computer skills in schools where computers are available. Schools are situated in Romblon Province.
I am writing on behalf of Brianne who is participating in a volunteer program through our organization, Global Volunteer Network. We are a non profit organization, based in New Zealand, which places people in a range of volunteer opportunities in community projects throughout the world.
Brianne has been accepted into the Philippines Teaching and given a volunteer placement beginning in June 2014 for a period of 2 weeks. The program package for 2 weeks is US $1597. Brianne pays this in order to cover the costs of her food, accommodation, supervision, and airport pickup. In addition to this, she needs to pay for her own airfares, entry Visa, vaccinations, and travel insurance.
Brianne and the Global Volunteer Network would appreciate any donations you can give to enable the Teaching to continue using volunteers and benefiting not only the community that Brianne will come into contact with but also those in her local community who she may inspire to help others in less fortunate circumstances than themselves.
Your financial aid will enable Brianne to participate in an experience which will assist a Filipino community in need.
