The Daffron family has responded to Jesus’ call to make disciples by Joining Greater Reach in Uganda. Through culturally relevant, biblically based training and trauma healing counseling, the indigenous Church is mobilized. The indigenous Church is strong, present, and actively working to bring hope to those who have experienced trauma, crisis, and extreme loss in Eastern Africa.
Teaching at Bible School
Christian leaders who are from a Muslim Background who have only known Christ for a year are sometimes overseeing multiple House Churches. As Greater Reach has continued to encourage, train and stand with these leaders, we have literally seen a modern book of Acts unfold!
After much prayer, and at the request of these new Christian leaders, Greater Reach opened the Jesus Impact School of Missions (JISM), in Kampala, Uganda. This six-month residential program, leaders will receive training focused on building Christian character, foundational Bible knowledge, and ministry skills in addition to one on one mentoring. Ryan has been asked to help write and establish curriculum for JISM as well as teach classes on preaching, the book of Acts, and leadership.
Trauma and Healing Counseling
Trauma and healing counseling has been taking place for a little over a year in refugee camps and IDP (Internal Displaced People) camps. Trained leaders enter a camp and walk alongside the traumatized. They listen, counsel, and offer tools to process the extreme loss they have experienced. The need, however, has grown and expanded. They are in need of more training and tools. In addition, many women are asking to be trained and desire to start a ministry specifically to women. Greater Reach has asked Mindy to come to do training for women in Uganda.
