Teach English to Displaced Children

Hi, my name is Nawras, I fled the war in Syria five years ago and came to Sweden. I had the chance to study as an adult here in Sweden and therefore earnestly believe that learning is the most important thing a child can have today.

My mission is to reach displaced children across the MENA region (the Middle East and North Africa) or even newly arrived children of the diaspora whose mother tongue is Arabic. With the advance of technology, I realize that even displaced children can have access to the internet while being deprived of their proper schooling. I therefore decided to reach them the way available to both parts now: the internet, YouTube in particular.

I earnestly believe that education should never be exclusive to anyone based on class, gender, age, race or even religion. I also believe that getting to know an 'Other' should eliminate any prejudices about this other. And what better way is there to eliminate prejudices than to learn the language thereby culture of this 'Other', in my case English?

I believe that getting to know to the Other cultures should eliminate any hypothesized clash of civilizations, if any, and help smooth integration upon migration!

I shall teach the children English in their own mother tongue Arabic with focus on grammar and phonetics of the English language. There are multiple studies supporting the notion that second language learning can be much more effective using the mother tongue of the learner.

Without your help, my project will take a huge amount of effort and time as I am working all by my self. Your money will be used for promotion for the most part in order for my videos to reach as many children as possible.
