Hello! My name is Kayla, I am a 21 year old college student living in Michigan! :-) It has been my dream for a very long time now to have the opportunity to travel abroad. It has always been my thought that no matter where you go, you should be spending your time helping people out, that is why I would like to volunteer in Vietnam this summer. It would be my first time ever leaving the country!

Because I have been paying for college out of pocket, I have been unable to save up enough in order to do this. I've chosen to volunteer as part of the International Volunteer HQ program, where I will be helping children learn English. From the website: "Volunteers will work in a Vietnamese school or community centre to assist primary and high school students with their education. Many Vietnamese schools lack teachers with sufficient English competencies to continue the children's English vocabulary past basic writing and speaking skills. Volunteers will help to improve the children's pronunciation, assist local teachers in managing their classes, organize games and other activities in the classroom, and help to improve the children's listening and speaking skills."

Any donations at all will be more than greatly appreciated!! I hope that I can reciprocate any kindness I receive!

I am an amateur artist, but for anyone who donates 100 dollars or more, I will draw a picture for you when I return from my trip! Here is an example of one of my drawings: http://i46.tinypic.com/ruu053.jpg You will also receive a postcard from Vietnam and a gift from Vietnam, as a token of my appreciation!
