Introduction

Hello, my name is Nathan, I am traveling to Panama for an undisclosed amount of time (probably 9 months to one year) on August 16th 2013. I will be traveling with my foster brother for his graduation present (from me) for his graduation to try and teach him proverty in lesser fortunite countries and how fortunite he has it here in the USA.

I am not asking you to donate money for that, infact I do not need the money. I havea great job that has agreed to allow me to travel to Panama and work remotely and agreed to allow me to go to 20-30 hours a week! I am asking for a donation to help with the cost of the rest of the project. While I am in Panama I plan on living abroud and traveling from place to place and I would like to help teach English and maybe even come computer skills.

A little about me

I actually lived in Panama for almost 3 years when I was 6-8 years old. My father moved our entire family there in 1993 to help my grandmother start a trucking company in Centeral America. However, after moving the entire family she decided not to do it. Instead of moving back home, my father got a job working at a company that worked on the Panama canal and we lived there for about 3 years. We lived in two places in Panama, Las Cumbres (near Panama City) and Cerro AZul (in the mountains). While we lived in Cerro AZul we adopted my sister (Adalida who was about 13 at the time, I was about 7) from a poverty stricken family.

Fast forward to 1996, we (entire family) moved back to the USA (Vancover, Washington) including Adalida. We lived in Washington for another 2 years then my father was in a car accident and for a variety of reasons including the accident we moved to Sturgis, South Dakota. After we moved to Sturgis we found out about the motorcycle rally (yes we actually had no idea about it when we moved there). Adalida joined the US Navy and became a nurse. While in Sturgis my parents became long term foster parents (eventually adopting them) raising 9 brothers, sisters, cusions and neces from the same family. The rest of us built a successfull campground to take advantage of the motorcycle rally. I then moved to Indiana for a job as a Software Developer and my parents sold their campground. Adalida is now out of the military and an operating room nurse at the Cleveland Clinic.

My Mission

While in Panama I would like to take as much advantage of everything I can. The first few weeks I am takeing a "true" vacation for two weeks with my foster brother. I am going to be staying with my old tutor (from when I was little and lived down there) for the first few weeks. My brother is going to be flying back to South Dakota two weeks later and I am going to stay. My plan is to continue working for my current company as a contractor and either find or start a small education center where I can teach youth English and maybe some computer/tech classes in my spare time. I will also be documenting and keeping a blog post and youtube videos of my adventures which I will share with everyone to keep anyone interested up-to-date.

What I am going to do with the money

I am going to be using the money to rent the building (if needed), buy supplies, and anything else that might be needed for the project. Any money I have left over (which is very unlikely, because I will be likely spending more money myself than will be donated) I will donate to a local charity.
