TARIC Soup Kitchen & Meal Delivery Service

Each year the TARIC Centre hosts the Rabi al-Awwal Soup Kitchen & Meal Delivery Service

Volunteers gather to package and prepare meals, which are then distributed to:

* Emergency / Crisis shelters for women & young children
* Youth shelters
* Shelters for men
* Senior Homes and programs
* Low-income complexes

A single donation of $5.00 can help provide a warm nutritious lunch for a mother in crisis, fleeing violence.

Tax deductible receipts for 100% of all donations will be issued.

A single donation of $5.00 can help provide a warm hearty dinner for a teenager who has nowhere to sleep on a chilly November night in Toronto.

A single donation of $5.00 will ensure that an elderly woman with mobility issues and without regular access to food will receive a tasty meal delivery right to her door.

You can make this happen.

This program is open to everyone of all faiths, race, gender, culture, or creed.

Here are our previous year's accomplishments:

2013 – 1300 meals
2014 – 2600 meals
2015 – 2400 meals
2016 – 2900 meals
2017 – 2700 meals
2018 - 3100 meals

2019 marks the 7th year of this program and we're once again aiming for 3,000 meals this year!

This program happens during the month of Rabi al-Awwal. It is a "mawlid in action" expression of love and mercy to revive the generous spirit that has traditionally coincided with the season of the birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
