Kiara is my dear friend who has delivered some remarkable achievements despite some very real struggles. Having only a single parent and grandparents who are beyond retirement age, still working to fund her BA Information Design studies at the University of Pretoria, South Africa . Every need is a daily battle with very little provision for crisis and unexpected challenges. Despite this, Kiara is an inspiration and has not allowed anything to stand in her way of excelling.
1. She passed her 2nd year with distinction
2. Earned a Golden Key Certificate
3. Has graduated from her university's Women in Leadership program.
All of this Kiara has realised using an old second hand laptop, while fellow students own the best Apple devices which are the recommended assets for design. Recently her laptop has crashed entirely under the demands of the design programs and this is prohibiting her from completing her design assignments. She and her family are in no position to replace this with something that would see her through her final year of studies and the initial years of her design career.
I am honoured that Kiara has shared this private need with me and I am determined to assist her to acquire a suitable device as a matter of urgency. She does not qualify for any other help, as in South Africa, scholarships and bursaries are mainly reserved for selected people groups.
I know that Kiara would be overwhelmed with gratitude for donations towards a device that is essential to her design studies and career.

Thank you to each and everyone who shared and donated to this cause! Even though we didn't reach our target, the funds have helped to procure a Macbook for Kiara. I have no doubt that this will only help Kiara to reach new heights in her design studies and career.
