Pozdrav svima :)

Zahvaljujući donacijama knjiga sestara milosrdnica, organizirali smo prvu knjižnicu u osnovnoj školi i održali edukaciju o čitanju knjiga kao lektire i analizi književnih djela.

Djeca obično rade u vrtu, zatim idu u školu, pa opet u vrt i prvi obrok (i obično jedini) imaju tek oko 17 sati.

-Svi hodaju bosi

"Takulana welaki" ( "Children for Children")

Currently, I am going to the Camino de Santiago and I want to raise the necessary funds this way for children. This route is 800 km long and it takes approximately 35 days to complete. I am going with my friend Ana and we will post our photos and expirience of our journey on Instagram page so you can all see what are we doing and what the route looks like.

In 2018, I was on a seven-month adventure to the Solomon Islands, teaching English.

That was a truly amazing life experience and when i returned home to Split I decided to help as much as I can.

Thanks to the donations of books by the Sisters of Charity, we organized the first library in the elementary school and held an education on how to read books as reading materials and analyze literary works.

I tried to learn their two languages Pijin and Kwaio, which was amazing for them, to see a white person speaking their language.

The children usually work in the garden, then go to school, and then to the garden again and their first meal (and usually the only one) is around 5 PM.

With your help, I would like to raise 5000 euros for around 1400 Solomon children from primary, secondary and regional schools to help them receive a daily hot meal of rice throughout the year (rice is a rarity on the Solomon Islands, they cannot afford it).Part of that money will be for prescription glasses, medicines and bandages that they need most.

Interesting facts:

  • Main city is Honiara
  • The population of island is divided into numerous tribal groups (spoken language is Sandalwood-English, official English is spoken by 2 % of the population)
  • The road network is 1,500 kilometers long, but 97 % are dirt roads
  • The doctor is 30 kilometers away, which takes them about hour and a half to drive
  • There are no medicines or vitamins, and residents often fall ill with dengue fever, malaria and skin diseases are common, and pharmacies are very poorly stocked
  • The inhabitants are top masters in making shell necklaces, which are an indispensable part of the culture.
  • They make the houses themselves
  • If a child loses his parents, another family will take him in and raise him as their own (social care does not exist, there are no nursing homes or orphanages, but families are very close)
  • It is quite unusual for women to wear trousers(except when canoeing)
  • Everyone walks barefoot

Thank you in advance :) Let's do a good thing together <3
