Take me to Bratislava! My quest to represent my country.

Hi future sponsor! My name is Jason Catacutan, I am a student of De La Salle University - Manila, and I would like to be your representative in the upcoming Model ASEM in Bratislava. The city Bratislava is the capital of the country of Slovakia in Central Europe. Flights usually range from 15 hours to 22 hours.

The Model ASEM Bratislava Spin-off 2018 will bring together 53 young delegates, who will engage in a political simulation of the ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting from 26 to 28 October 2018. The main goal of the Model is to provide an educational platform for young leaders from the ASEM partner countries and thus to increase interest in the ASEM process and Europe-Asia cooperation. This September I received news that I was selected to represent the country as a delegate, this October. It was a huge revelation for myself, for the this conference only accepts one applicant per country. This news was invigorating for me, I have prior experiences in conferences before but this will be my firsts time abroad, and as a sole representative of the country.

Unfortunately, being an international event, the travel cost and food cost for this conference is higher compared to domestic meetings. I do not want to burden my family with the costs of this trip, currently I am doing various ways to earn enough, one of them is through this post you are seeing.

The travel cost is around 700-750 USD, along with food expenses, visa application, and travel tax at around 150-180 USD. Currently, I am looking for cheaper flights or paths to Slovakia. I wholeheartedly come to you for any amount of financial aid possible.

I feel blessed to be given a chance to represent the country and I do not want to waste it. I see this as an opportunity to enhance my skills, to hopefully one day share to my fellow youth. Lastly, I want to make our country proud, as your delegate.
