Multiteck was recently formed to supply tablets and other computer hardware to South African schools. South African parents have recently started seeing tablets as part of their children’s list of requirements from schools into which their children have enrolled. The aim for these schools is to improve learning for students by providing digital textbooks and past papers.
Although some schools have been successful in implementing this, the majority of schools have been unable to make this change due to limited budgets and little to no financial support. The government has announced that Gauteng township schools will be receiving brand new tablets, however due to financial constraints, only selected higher grades will receive support. This leaves a large gap, particularly at a primary school level.
A large number of students are denied the privileges of advanced education simply because they come from low income households and cannot afford the resources required to enable them to perform well. Financial need should not be an obstacle to students who qualify to enter primary school, high school or university at suitable academic standards. But it is critical to understand that the government cannot fund education on its own. As a result Multiteck has decided to start an initiative aimed at raising funding in order to donate tablets and other educational requirements to schools that are faced with such challenges.
We hope you will join us in our journey to equip South African learners with resources that will ensure they receive the education they deserve.
