LIFE IN CEBU AFTER TYPHOON ODETTE: THEY NEES OUR HELP NOW

I haven't seen much news on the extent of devastation of Typhoon RAI or Odette in Cebu except from social media posts of friends. So if there are some coverage that I did miss, I do apologize. Cebu has it bad. And if we are hit this bad, I have no doubt those other areas on the path of the typhoon probably have it just as bad as us. We are on day 4 since the typhoon and drinking water is VERY scarce. No electricity yet. (portions of vrama and b.brod had their lights back on just last night although hospitals ang gasoline stations were prioritized. Hooray for small wins!) It takes hours to line up and buy gasoline/fuel. And I don't mean just an hour or 2. Hours meaning 4,6 and I've read a friend post he was in line for 8 hours!! That's a whole day worth of working hours! Connection is hit and miss. Calls are difficult to make and internet is best during the wee hours of the morning. Thus this post at this hour. Cash is scarce as atm machine lines are long while some have run out of cash and we're back to cash basis for now.

I do admire the indomitable spirit of Cebuanos. I just hope we don't reach our breaking point yet. But it's inspiring to see fellow Cebuanos helping each other out. People with generators offering free charging stations. Or those with water sharing those with none. You see the best in us at these times as people who are badly hit still manage to help inspite of.

I organized this fundraising to at least help 100 families in Cebu tosome food, hygeine kits and finacncial assistance. Let’s do our share to help our kababayan during this difficult times.
