Campaign Story
Youth Advocates for the Philippines, also known as YAP, is a youth-led, non-profit, and volunteer organization that paves the way for the youth to experience socio-civic involvement through a series of advocacy-based projects and initiatives. With thousands of member-advocates present in all regions of the Philippines, it has been accredited by the National Youth Commission and the United Nations’ Major Group of Children and Youth.
Last 30 January 2020, the Department of Health recorded the first cases of COVID-19 or the coronavirus in the Philippines. As of 13 April 2020, Philippines cases jumped to 4,932 while death toll hit 315. Due to the continuous increase of cases, President Rodrigo Duterte extended the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon to April 30 in which many less fortunate families will continue to suffer. And the YAP acts in giving help to the needy in our country. With this in mind, the YAP Ilocos Norte is holding a donation drive entitled Tabang na Karon: Dingras which aims to raise funds to procure relief goods to families affected by the ECQ at Brgy. Barong, Dingras.
In this regard, YAP humbly comes into your midst to solicit for your help and assistance to spearhead the above stated drive. Your assistance can be in the form of cash to be used for the purchase of relief goods or you may send a donation in kind relative to these goods. Your help and generosity will play a vital role not only in the conduct of this project but much more in building an advocacy-based and inclusive society.
