Sydney Bridge Run – Team Elsie

On 20th September I will be running the Sydney Bridge 9km run. Yes, I will get to run across the Sydney Harbour bridge in the sunshine and finish in the botanical gardens, however the reason I'm doing this is to raise funds for a wonderful little girl in my life. Recently Elsie, the daughter of good friends, was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic neuromuscular condition, called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type II. This means that Elsie will never be able to walk and her muscles will gradually become weaker, eventually wasting due to lack of use. There is currently no cure or treatment for this condition.

Everyone wants to give their children the best life possible and make them as happy as humanly achievable, so this fund raising will go towards helping this loving family provide medical equipment, adapt their home, research her condition, and anything else that can help towards giving Elsie the most opportunities in life.
