Hey family, friends, and fellow homesteaders!

No surprise here but.....

KOBI AND I ARE PREGNANT!!

I know this is positively overwhelming news for some of you and right on time for others! We are both really excited to share this bit of joy with you all. We are officially at the 9 week point as of the week of April 27th, with an expected due date of December 4th, 2020! Pray for us y’all, as two water signs are about to bring a fiery Sagittarius into existence!

This First trimester has been an extremely tumultuous point of transition for me, both with being away from home and family, as well as enduring all the woes of my first pregnancy and a transforming body in a foreign county. Even in that aspect, Kobi and I have been growing and expanding on a variety of levels during these times and I’m so grateful that we can have our first child together in addition to running our hostel, Natural Bamboo Village. We are definitely in for the ride of a lifetime!

With this campaign we are asking you all to come together in support of both our union and our bundle. We’ve been talking about a lot during this process and we’ve decided to tweak some of our previous plans, both business wise and now family wise now that we have yet another life (or two) to think about! Our main concerns are a to have a HEALTHY & HAPPY pregnancy and baby!

• We’d like to both be present for the birth with a midwife of our choosing in OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA!
  I truly can’t see myself going through this without the love and support of you all! Additionally, I NEED my mom and sisters to able to physically hold my hand through all this.
• We know a hostel is no place for a newborn child!
  With that in mind, we have come together to establish land about an hour into the jungle in a small town called Akutassi, Ghana. Here we have begun clearing land and preparing to start the construction of our natural Earth Bag home!! This building style, which utilizes sandbags is also referred to as Adobe/Super-adobes OR Dome homes, known to be extremely durable, cost efficient, and most importantly SUSTAINABLE. • Lastly, amid everything going on around the COVID-19 pandemic the Ghanaian economy has been hit rather hard! Tourism has halted, as has the ability of Ghanaians to create income from daily street sales! We have decided to start up an import/export business in response! Our Tye die works, powdered herbs, tonics, and handmade fashions will ALL be available online at our earliest convenience! Soaps, butters, and specialty foods are in the works as well, so stay tuned family!
