Sustaining the next Generation….
Wyndford Holiday Farm was established in the 1920’s by a Scottish lady and been family owned and run ever since. Our family has been running Wyndford for nearly 40 years with many of our staff having been with us for over 30 years. There is much history in Wyndford -one of our favourite buildings where many friendships have been made over tea through the years, the Summerhouse, was built by Italian prisoners of war. It is where our guests have been making memories over tea and cake for over three generations.
Due to the Covid pandemic and the current situation in South Africa, we have not been able to generate an income as the Tourism and Hospitality sector has been particularly hard hit. We have worked to make our Holiday Farm self sufficient and grow many of our own vegetables as well as raising sheep, pigs and cattle – with our cows about to calve, it will make us self-sufficient in milk as well.
Our team had to be drastically significantly reduced from 41 to 19 permanent staff. On full capacity we call in and employ those we had to let go. It would be devasting to us all if Wyndford had to close. People have always been our focus with a return guest rate of 80%, if our staff lose employment, the mountain they would have to climb would be very hard to scale, especially as they all support extended families. We remain committed to keeping jobs and thank our employees for their hard work and willingness to go the extra mile during these difficult times.
We have been advised that we need ZAR1,950,000. The funds will be used to service our existing financial obligations which have become substantial and burdensome during Covid, and cashflow to keep Wyndford going until we can once again operate to our full potential. No donation is too small or too big, all will be appreciated. George and Lindy Smith

Wyndford has been a special place for the Staegemann family for many years, and I’ve been privileged to visit several times from the USA. It a community that God has blessed and is a blessing to so many. In these times of need I’m reminded of God’s promise in Genesis 22:14, "So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, 'On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.'"
