Sustainable Food Days – Lisbon #2

Sustainable Food Days (SFD) is a week-long program that celebrates and promotes sustainable food & drink initiatives (https://www.facebook.com/sfw.lx/).

Its aim is to engage and connect the public with the subject of food sustainability in a meaningful way that inspires a lasting, positive impact on the local food system.

It does this by bringing together different key players to synchronise their individual efforts and magnify their effect. This collective campaign catalyses the creation of a pro-active community working in the name of real, good food (and drink).

The types of activities that can be expected during SFD include:

-Interactive workshops -Documentary screenings -Roundtable discussions -Chef challenges -… and plenty more!

Sustainable Food Network is an idea that was kick-started by Mayya Papaya of Foodisms.The first edition, came to life in 2018 in Lisbon, from the 26th November to the 2nd December, with the voluntary efforts of some extraordinary individuals and organisations.

In numbers, last year, for edition #1:

1. Reach of 11K people with an engagement of 3K, mostly on Facebook, the majority of events sold-out

2. Project turnover time was less than a month, the first official organisational meeting was on Nov 1st

3. 12 volunteer organisational team members, led by Mayya Papaya (8 women, 4 men from 25-42 y.o.)

4. 35+ activities included in programme, at least one each day, and most concentrated on week-end

5. 30 collaborating entities

6. Partnerships with 5 local restaurants, running sustainable food menus during SFW.LX

7. 3 interesting spin-off events, self-organised by participants through connections made during SFW.LX

For this year, #2, we want to hit the following targets:

1.Promote 50+ registered activities, such as workshops, chef cook-offs, talks, etc 3.Partner with 20+ restaurants to offer a special menu for this week 5.Closing event with 200+ people, to connect the community and share a future campaign
