Sustainable and eco friendly agriculture production
My name is Drazen Rasic, I'm in charge of small family agricultural business.
It's a family owned business for the last 25 years, and it's the main source of income for my family.
Our main focus is producing "chem" free fruits and vegetables which we sell on a daily basis on our local green market.
In our production we mainly use natural compost and manure as fertilizers, and for protection it's mechanical technique of removing infected parts, or natural substances made of herbs which we spray our crops for protection against insects and diseases.
This kind of agricultural production is labor intensive and yields lesser amount of crops to sell which results in smaller income for our family. But it's a safe and honest way of selling your products to other people knowing that it won't harm anyone.
Goal of this fundraiser
I've started this fundraiser in hope that it will generate enough money to finance a purchase of a new tractor for our farm. For the last 2 years we had 100% and 40% damage on our orchards caused by late spring frost. Last year frost came 21.4. and we ended up with no fruits to harvest, relying solely on vegetable production thus limiting us to invest any money in new machinery.
Due to a way we cultivate soil and do maintenance of our orchards it's essential for us to have a reliable and versatile machine which can improve the efficiency and reduce the work hours required to get the job done.
We've been using a 1970 18HP Tomo Vinkovic 4WD tractor as a main machine on our property, but the lack of parts, mechanical limitations and lack of suitable implements due to the unique way it rotates it's PTO limits it's usage on our property.
Due to all that we're forced to manually trim the grass in orchard by using the gas powered trimmer which takes 6 days to trim all of 3,2 ha, 4 times per year, and a gas powered 6HP tiller to cultivate the soil where we plant vegetables.
If I were to raise enough money with this fundraiser I would invest it in a YTO 254 tractor which would greatly improve efficiency and reduce the labor time on our property.
I'll post down below GPS coordinates so you can check our property via satellite image to prove I'm not making it up.
