Süslü the FIP Fighter

Süslü is a stray cat who was born in my neighborhood. He has always been frail and since he was a baby he has been fighting various diseases, enduring medical interventions, injections and visits to the clinic. He’s never been too good at protecting himself from danger, cold weather, rain or else. On top of it, a lot of people in my building did not even want him to sleep on the door mat where he used to spend his days. Finally one day he started to lose his appetite, lost considerable weight in not more than two days and I took him to the vet. The lab results showed serious anemia (in a very critical stage) and a nasty bacterial infection. But the worst happened the day after. He was diagnosed with wet FIP. How was he supposed to fight this fatal disease with his tiny frail body? Thanks to our experienced and caring vets we stayed strong and hopeful and immediately started his treatment. He first got blood transfusion to which he responded fairly well. Then along with antibiotics and supplements we started his FIP treatment. Maybe you already know but for those who do not, the treatment for wet FIP is extremely expensive. The pricing of the med is based on US dollars. Considering the high inflation rates in Turkey and constantly fluctuating exchange rates (and always trending up) our financial situation is now in a dire strait. So I started this fundraising to help save Süslü because he has been fighting this disease with all his strength and he shows every single day, with his effort and stamina, how much he wants to live.
