A Change Gonna Come

Update posted by Yolanda Walton On Mar 04, 2016

A safety plan is a personalized plan that a victim create ways to remain safe while in an abusive relationship, while they’re planning to leave and after the individual leave. A victim of domestic violence is most at risk during incidents of violence and when attempting to leave the abuser, so it's important to prepare ahead of time to be as protected as possible.

“Safety planning is very significant for victims of domestic violence. If you know someone involved in an abusive relationship, it is imperative to help the victim create a personalized safety plan. This will permit them to have a well-planned strategy during a violent incident and to have a successful escape.
