Surviving a Startup

Well: One year ago, my Mother and I gave up everything we had to pursue a business venture in Amsterdam. We sold our house, our furniture, our vehicles, and left our jobs to fill a void with an entrepreneurial spirit that most don't understand - including many of our family and friends. We wrote out a business plan, mapped out the network, found initial investment, and focused 100% of ourselves into an idea that we aim to turn into a reality: Setting up Amsterdam's first city-wide WiFi network. With a city-center that is only a square kilometer, and greatly dependent on tourism (10 million tourists per year who can't use 3G without ridiculous data roaming charges), it's not hard to imagine how successful this could be. It's just a matter of doing it!

So: In the year that we've been here, we've establsihed residency, registered our business, built personal relationships with the many small businesses that we need to collaborate with, and are ready to begin operations as soon as we get our final investment. Since then, we've learned that everything takes twice as long as you might think, which is why we're behind on rent, and all of our yearly renewals are due. We have gotten nothing but positive feedback on our idea, and somehow we've managed to make it this far, so the next few steps are what are going to either make or break our endeavors. Right now we're in the home stretch, as we've partnered with a company which assures us that they can find us our final investment, we just have to stick it out for a little while longer.

That's where you come in!: Any funding we receive will be going towards our living expenses, as well as our business expenses. We need to renew our web domain and e-mail addresses because, as you know, we need to maintain a professional appearance while we're in negotiations with investors. We need anything we can get right now because we're down to the very last of our resources, so every little bit helps and would be greatly appreciated! All donations will be towards covering everything: lawyer fees, investment hunter fees, utilities, web-host, etc. Thank you so so so much to everyone who has been showing their support so far, as well as everyone who will be!
