My name is Shontee Shepherd-Hendfield. I am a 33 year old mother of 4. My 15 year old daughter lives with her dad, my youngests who are 6 and 7 years old live between me my husband and my only son (12 years today), lives with his aunt. For some years now, it has been a struggle trying to make ends meet, but things have gotten worse and I don't know what else to do.
On Sunday September 1st, 2019, Freeport, Grand Bahama (where I have lived all my life), was hit by Hurricane Dorian's catastrophic winds and battered the Island for more than 2 days. The experience felt like a never-ending nightmare. After hurricane Dorian, I am in need of some financial help to provide and care for my children. My family and I survived the storm, but lost everything through flooding and water damage. At the moment, we are in need of a suitable place to live, food, gas stove, gas tank, generator, transportation and more. Currently the water and power on the island are not fully restored. Also there are no jobs due to the temporary closing of businesses. Schools are closed as well.
Although we've lost everything, we still have each other. My goal is to be a great mom and have all my children together again. Please help me to get back on my feet and rebuild a better life for my kids. Thanking you in advance for your generous donations! Have a blessed day!
