Surgery Fundraiser

My sisters, Alex and Andrea, and I are trying to raise funds to help our Papa, Stephen Harn, with his huge medical bills. Through hard work, he became Branch Manager of the Mercedes Benz dealership in Bonifacio Global City for many years before taking a job as General Manager of a large resort in Boracay. But he has not worked in over a year because his gout got so bad. He had surgery last year to remove the uric acid (called tophi) that had hardened around all his joints partially disabling his hands and feet - even the doctors couldn't believe how much was removed!

In August of this year, he had another gout-related surgery to fuse the damaged bones of his right ankle so he can start walking again. But now he needs the same surgery for his left ankle since the bones there have deteriorated as well. At this point, our family is in financial crisis. Our relatives and friends helped with the cost of his previous surgeries – which were very high because he no longer has medical insurance. Our family has sold what we can and are living very simply on bare essentials.

My sisters and I are still in Junior and Senior High and cannot help financially. At the moment, our Mama is the only one working and cannot provide both for his medical and household expenses. Please consider donating ANY amount to help us with this 3rd surgery so that our Papa can return to work and start earning again. He has been very depressed and so much pain so we hope you can help us give him hope. He has been such a great father and we love him very much.

Your overwhelming support is such a relief for us as now we are all assured that our Papa will fully recover from his ordeal. As advised by his doctor, the projected amount needed to cover all his medications, subsequent follow up tests & doctor's visits, and the therapy - where he will need regain the strength of both his legs and learn how to literally walk again - will amount to no less than P120,000. We are hoping that, through your further generosity, we can reach that amount. Our Papa is determined to get well again and is looking forward to going back to work to provide for us.
