Campaign Story

Hi, we are two uni students fostering a 17 year old stray cat. He has lived in our neighbourhood since we were young, and close to our hearts.
We brought him to the vet out of concern for his half blindness and scruffy appearance, but found out that he has heart murmurs, possible stone or tumour in his bladder causing him to pee blood, one chipped and infected tooth, and rows of missing teeth resulting in permanent blep of the tongue.
It is going to be very costly moving forward, but we want to give him a second chance in life, and possibly find him a furever home.
Expenses needed for an ultrasound on his bladder, medication, checkups, possible surgery and cat’s daily meals and living expenses.

Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 12:22 pmThank you so much to all of our donors - without your kindness, us two broke students would not have been able to afford to take care of Scruffy. You have all given him a chance to live out his finals years in peace, safe from a harsh life on. . . . .
Final Update for now
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 09:09 pmA warm hello to all of our kind donators and friends,We apologize for not giving a sooner update regarding our decision. Following Scruffy's heart ECG, we received a call from our vet informing us at that Scruffy has a leaky valve on the right side of his heart, and a. . . . .
Update 14
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 04:22 amHi everyone!Yesterday we took Scruffy for his check-up after two weeks of antibiotic treatment to see if the infection in his bladder had cleared up. Unfortunately, his bladder was the size of a pea. The vet was unable to obtain a urine sample, even after we tried to give him. . . . .
Update 13
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 01:04 pmHey everyone!Today, we took Scruffy back to where he used to live for a visit. He must have known exactly where he was, poking his head out of the carrier curiously. Another cat, whom the community cat feeder affectionately named "Spot", was equally curious too. He paced around Scruffy's carrier. . . . .
Update 12
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 04:33 amHi everyone! It's been a few days since we last posted an update. Scruffy has been taking his medication (reluctantly, but we're glad he has the energy to struggle), taking long naps and frequently peeing (though blood is still present in his urine). Here are some cute photos we took of
Update 11
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 06:22 pmHello to all our kind supporters,Today has been a whirlwind of emotions. We would first like to emphasize that Scruffy is currently at home, napping and safe. Scruffy fell asleep with us last night, on our bed. He was gently snoring and purring, with little twitches in his sleep. He. . . . .
Update 10
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 03:19 pmHi everyone! This morning, we woke up to Scruffy’s two food bowls which we left in his cage, empty! Hooray! Scruffy continues to be a good boy, cooperating with us as we feed him medication. Except for the antibiotics, which he absolutely detests. He scrambled to the window and lost two. . . . .
Update 9
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 12:27 pmHello everyone, Scruffy is not a fan of his new medicine. Its a syrup based medication which frankly smells like cough syrup. We wouldn't want that either. Unfortunately, he has to take it until the next vet appointment where we hope to ask for a pill version instead. I can't. . . . .
Update 8
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 10:18 amHey y'all!Today we talked to our vet about findings from the ultrasound Scruffy did this week, and they also checked the potassium levels in his blood. Good news - they are back to normal, which is a good sign! Hooray! He has lost weight, though, going from 4.57kg to 4.05kg.. . . . .
Update 7
Update posted by Silvo Scruffy at 10:53 amHello everyone!Today we got a call from Oasis Vet telling us about the results of the ultrasound Scruffy did this week. He has bladder stones, bladder inflammation (likely caused by bacterial infection), kidney inflammation (hard to ascertain cause, one of it could be cancer), and a hernia. The bladder stones. . . . .
