Surgery for Congenital Heart Disease

Hello everyone. Thanks for reading my gogetfunding project. This fundraiser is not for myself. But this is for Shellane a friend of mine.

Her full name is Shellane Simugan. She is 24 years old and residing at Purok Nangka, Conel General Santos City. Her father is working at piggery as a labor. Her mother is a plain housewife. She has a brother who is married already and a sister who is working as a sale representative. The two of her siblings is undergraduate because of poverty. 

Last year,shellane is working as sales representative at KCC Mall of Gensan and at the same time pursuing her studies at Gensantos Foundation Inc.-College. She has a Congenital Heart Disease since birth. Because of too much fatigue, she suffered a mild stroke. But because she desires to live, it’s a miracle that she still alive until now and continue to live the normal life in spite of the condition she has.

Instead of staying at home because of her heart condition, she still choose to pursue her study.

Her doctor advised her to go through a surgery. So, she went and apply some of the medical mission in Davao. But unfortunately she is not belong to the 100% free surgery for medical assistance because Congenital Heart Disease is not an ordinary disease. For that reason, they still need money amounting to P300,000 to P400,000 for the surgery.

As of now, she is taking a medicine to sustain her health. Sometimes she can take and sometimes she can’t. And because she is brave enough, she still continue her study. Because she believe that God is good and He is watching her and someday everything will be fine. And aside from fighting her health condition she also wanted to fight their poverty.

Yesterday, we went to PCSO to ask some help but we found out that they can assist but not the whole portion of the amount of the surgery, only 10% of the billing amount.

I told her to stay positive, I will find in any ways I can so that I can help her. I am glad, I found this site. And I hope, this is the way that Shellane can have her heart surgery.
