SUPPORT SHEENA: Fight Leukemia

Dear Friends,

My batchmate and dear friend, Sheena Irish Gulla-Barra, was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) last February 2018. She got this devastating news during the 1st month of her 1st pregnancy. The Doctor advised her to start oral chemotherapy after she gives birth.

Aside from enduring the mental & emotional agony of her illness, Sheena & her husband are also facing the financial burden of her treatment with an estimated cost of P2.16M a year. Her doctor prescribed an intake of Glivec 100mg 4x a day.The drug cost about Php1,500 each tablet.

With a heavy heart, we are knocking on your kind & generous heart to help us raise the funds for her expensive medication which they cannot afford.

Sheena was born as the only child to her parents in 1985. Sadly, her Dad passed away in 1998, leaving her mom and Sheena who was 12yrs old then. Painfully, her Mom also left her & joined the Creator last August 2013.

Though her growing up years have been difficult without Dad at a young age, her Mom has managed to provide for her education with the help of Hope’s “White Gift Drive” (during her preschool to high school). Eventually, she was able to finish college and get a good job which allowed her to save a little amount of money.

However with her medical condition and her newborn child, her savings is depleting and she doesn’t have enough funds for her treatment.

With this, we are appealing to your kind & generous heart for her medication.

Please pray for Sheena and her husband as they battle with this illness and for God's provision during this difficult time.
