Supports the cause of these children of the Pacific Region of Colombia

We are a group of people from Bogota, Colombia. We seek economic support for a group of artist, musician and athlete children of the Buenaventura City, Pacific Region of Colombia.

The group is called Christo Gool (they adopted the name after a foreigner who helped during their formative process). The group was born in the Piedras Canta community (marginalized neighborhood of the municipality of Buenaventura-Colombia) all their children are Afrodescendants and most of them are displaced by the violence in the framework of Colombian armed conflict of nearby roads.

In total, 130 children and adolescents participate in their free time of cultural, sporting and artistic activities managed by their director Jeison (a young man from the neighborhood), who felt the need to do something for their community, specially children.

Currently, a chirimía ( local music from the Pacific Region) group has also been formed, which has participated in different cultural events at the municipal level. However they do not have any state resources, so many people are working with the purpose of providing support to strengthen the group and to transform the realities of children and adolescents participating in the cultural space ."
