"Meet Melih! He is a sweet, 13-year-old boy with an ultra-rare and debilitating genetic disorder, Temple-Baraitser Syndrome.
He was born a disadvantaged child due to a mutation in the KCNH1 gene. A highly dependent child. He cannot speak, cannot walk independently, cannot meet any of his needs independently. He also has epileptic seizures. Unfortunately, where we live, special education and the therapies Melih needs are extremely expensive. Up until this year, we had managed to find sponsors to support his education, and he has gone to a lovely little school for children with disabilities. He has benefited so much from this program, and loves it there. Unfortunately, this year we were unable to find any financial support for Melih, and so he's currently out of school, and also not receiving any therapies since we can't afford them. I think most people believe that every child deserves an education, and so I'm asking for your help. I created this page to raise the funds to get Melih back to school and back in therapy. With your help and the services he depends on, Melih can adapt to life, become as independent as possible, socialize and, most importantly, be happy. Thank you in advance for your support!"
