Campaign Story
Hello everyone, this is my only brother Ryan. He has been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia last September 2018.
CML, is a genetic change takes place in an early (immature) version of myeloid cells -- the cells that make red blood cells, platelets, and most types of white blood cells (except lymphocytes). This change forms an abnormal gene called BCR-ABL, which turns the cell into a CML cell. The leukemia cells grow and divide, building up in the bone marrow and spilling over into the blood. In time, the cells can also settle in other parts of the body, including the spleen. CML is a fairly slow growing leukemia, but it can change into a fast-growing acute leukemia that's hard to treat.
Since then he has resigned from his work as his diagnosis is related to the stress and other factors. He has now moved back home in Manila and is taking oral chemo to help maintain a low, normal and sustainable White Blood Cells (WBC), however, due to his intake of oral chemo, this, on the other hand overworks his liver. Now his liver also needs regular monitoring.
As some of you may know I do have an online shop (Joei and Lynn) which helps support my brother's monthly expenses, but this is not sufficient to the next medical check-up and treatment that my brother needs to undergo.
We need to get a thorough check-up on his bone marrow do a biopsy and as well as check his liver as well as other organs to ensure that it has not been affected. Also to help cover for the medical expenses. On his blood check-up today his platelets were at 1900+ and the normal level is at 400, that is 470% off the normal level. This is indeed very alarming and is an absolute concern to us.
We would like to schedule the full body check-up, biopsy on his bone marrow and liver and other organs as well to get the proper diagnosis and treatment options the earliest. As you can imagine this will be expensive.
We're not 100% sure what we're battling against, but we're definitely going to put up a good fight!
So we are seeking for any financial assistance that will go towards, medical expenses, doctor's fees and hospitalization charges, any excess will go towards his medication. We also would like to request that you include my brother Ryan Asumbrado in your prayers.
We thank you everyone for the prayer and help that you will be willing to extend towards us, it will be very much appreciated.

On behalf of Pinoy [email protected] and friends, we’d like to extend our help for Ryan’s fast recovery. This may not be much, but we hope our simple gesture will somehow support his medication needs. We wish him all the best in life and in health!
