What I have contributed?

If you have used on my language apps in android, (Understand Korean, Understand Chinese, Understand Thai), I'm sure you have learned alot / something. If you are grateful and want to thank / help me, I am truly grateful for whatever amount you donated. To those who haven't used, feel free to have a try. At least I'm not asking donation and not contributing.

What happened to me?

I'm really happy that language apps enabled more than 100k users around the world to learn something in their life. But as you have noticed, from once a month update and slowly, I didn't able to update the apps anymore since April 2019.

This is because those revenue from advertisement (almost all are given free) cannot sustain my life anymore. I am badly in debt because I have invested in a salon with my girlfriend, and unfortunately, things are not that rosy.

In between, I have to do freelance project to manage myself and my 4 cats daily needs. At the end, all my time is tied to projects that I don't feel happy doing. In other words, I trade my time/skill for money as most of us do everyday.

I feel really wasted abandoning these apps because I can't continue updating and teaching users so that they can fully master the language anymore. If I have the crowdfunding amount I needed, then I can pay back my debts and restart all over again. Otherwise, it will be middle of 2020 before I can accumulate enough money to repay my debt and again fully focus on updating these apps again.

What I pledged?

If I can get the amount of donation fulfilled, I will dedicate my years of life working on these apps and teaching users to learn a new language in an easy way.

Who I am?

I'm a programmer who work for people more than 10 years, working on stuff I don't like and I feel no meaning to the society at all. It's purely profit and loss business kind of thing.

I end up resigning and chasing my dream and founded these language apps, which I am really delighted that I have helped over 100k people in the world in some way. But as cold as hard truth, chasing your dream is not practical and you will end up poor. I hope creating this fundraising can help me restart my life by paying off all my debts, and enable me to have enough to continue chasing my dream.
